The beginning.

That I became an owner of an IWS happened by incident I must confess.
I was looking for a black Cocker and as I know Jessie and Kaj, Kennel Sieger, and knew they were involved with the Spaniel Club it felt naturally to ask for their help to find the right one.

Jessie and Kaj, at that point, had a litter of IWS puppies after CH. Coffee’s Café Royal & CH. Bogtrotter’s Emerald Lotus, and at the end, of course, I went home with a big, brown curly thing instead of a little black Cocker.

My big curly thing was named “Sieger’s Baron Of Basset” also called Chivas.
Chivas became my entrance to a strange world, of which I, until then, knew nothing about, but have been in since then, and surely will I stay there as long as it is possible.

Suddenly my world turned upside down from a day filled with children, husband, family and friends besides a mixed dog and horses, also to include gundogwork, dog shows and a pedigree dog with a lot of curly fur, which had to be brushed, bathed, dried and clipped before one was ready to go to the show.

I have NEVER regret………….but still……………..yes the first times I stood there alone with him, and was making him ready for a show, at that point I did regret, because it was difficult, very difficult, and today when I look at old photos I can see, it wasn't allways to Chivas' advantage. But what the heck, practice makes perfect and fortunately it's been much better over the years. Now I have gradually had IWS's for 30 years and that's a thing I'm not going to change.

Chivas.
